Research Project Summary:

The research focuses on the mechanisms behind cancer cells developing resistance to chemotherapy. Specifically, it examines how cancer cells lacking Neprilysin enzymes exhibit increased resistance to drugs like Cisplatin. Our goal is to understand how Neprilysin helps prevent this resistance. We are using D. melanogaster (fruit flies) to study the critical role of Neprilysin in overcoming chemotherapy resistance, aiming to apply these findings to be used as a model for humans.
