Research Project Summary
Mapping the Student-Support Network at New Mexico State University
New Mexico State University offers many resources to support undergraduate STEM students, but how these resources connect as a larger system is less understood. Working with Dr. Paulette Vincent-Ruz in the PVR Lab, I use qualitative and social network analysis to examine relationships among student-serving programs and how offices understand their roles and connections. As NMSU is a Hispanic-serving institution, this research also considers servingness—how institutions actively support the students they enroll. By mapping these relationships, this project seeks to identify patterns and opportunities for stronger coordination that can support student success and persistence in STEM.
