Dr. Gallaway is the Program Manager for U-RISE.  Before retiring in 2024, he was a Professor in the Department of Finance, Economics, and Risk Management at Missouri State University.

In July 2026, Dr. Gallaway became the Program Manager for U-URISE, where he uses his background in education, administration, and the social sciences to further program goals.

Dr. Gallaway’s primary area of research was studying light pollution and its impacts on human health, tourism, science, recreation, and beauty.  He has also published in the areas of technology, economic geography, and economic anthropology. He has over 30 years' worth of experience in higher education that includes a wide range of teaching, research, and administrative roles.
